Decorating your home can be tricky. It often needs a bit of help but it doesn’t need to be difficult or expensive. If you feel like this, maybe you might like to consider our home design service.

 

 

The Cloth Home Design Service

We think the Cloth style is very relaxed confident and contemporary – a bit pared back, very natural and not afraid of colour and pattern. Modern Australian, you might say. We have been crafting our style now for 17 years and are finding more and more people responding to what we do and asking for our opinion.

 

 

 

So we have developed a design service to cover all the things that we do instinctively, every day, from simple colour advice through to a full home makeover.

And because we know that redecorating can seem a bit daunting to people who don’t do these things every day, we recognise the importance of being clear and consistent in explaining the processes and costs involved.

 

 

Julie Paterson our design director and Kate Connors our interior designer work together on each project. Together they offer a variety of ways to get your home looking good.

 

 

First Conversation

Every potential consultation begins with a conversation. Either by phone, or in store we’ll have a bit of a chat and get to hear a bit about what you might be after. It might be our simple Once Off consultancy or the more specific Room by Room consultancy.

Once Off Consultancy – In Store, On Line or At Home

A consultancy that can be conducted in our store, by email or in the comfort of your own home.

In this time, usually 2 hours, you will get a simple plan and some general advice. We offer direction on colour and composition, texture and pattern according to the specifics of your home. We take into consideration the aspect, available light, existing furnishings and fixtures, your lifestyle and preferences. We will discuss how to integrate our fabrics and accessories into your scheme and provide colour references for you to work with.

For this service we charge an hourly rate and for home visits we charge an additional hour to cover travel time and prep.

 

Room by Room Consultancy

It might be that your project is bigger or more specific than an initial consultation. In this case we would approach it room by room with a set fee per room. The result is a plan of action with a concept board and quotes for getting the job done.

We split this consultancy down into 3 stages.

The first stage takes place in your home where we advise on colour, fabrics and finishes. We discuss integrating our fabric and products into your space with options regarding furniture, drapery, lighting, artwork, rugs and products from other suppliers according to your needs. We do initial measure ups for quoting and give some basic on the spot advice around colour, styling and space planning.

Stage two involves us creating a look and feel for your room based on our discussions. We develop a concept board of clear ideas, materials and finishes with an idea of the costs involved.

Stage three is where we present our ideas to you and discuss the plan of action.

Each stage is included in the set fee – once you give us the go ahead on the job, there are no further fees involved. Our time managing the job, including any additional visits to your home, will be costed into the products we’ve specified. This helps you to know exactly where you stand financially at every stage.
